Captain Charles Turner started fishing at very young age with his father JR aboard their 25ft Speed Craft center console out of Islamorada. They targeted species like snappers and groupers on the reefs, and mahi, tunas, and wahoos offshore. As the years passed, captain Charles and his father also developed a love for the Florida Bay and began fishing the back- country waters of Everglade National Park and Flamingo. " My dad and I would load up our 14ft fiberglass canoe on Friday nights with our trusty 12V 55 lbs. thrust trolling motor mounted to the transom. We brought 2 batteries, one to fish with and one to get us home! The limited range of one battery allowed us to fish nearby Bradley, Murray, and Joe Kemp Keys. This short range helped me learn the importance of fishing the tides in the backcountry."
At 18 years of age Charles earned his OUPV or "Six Pack" Captain's License. He immediately began working for Sea Tow where he learned the fundamentals of boat handling and most importantly, boating safety. While working full-time with Sea Tow he still found the time to be a fishing guide & captain private vessels for fishing charters. After several years of commercial towing and marine salvage knowledge along with many tonnage upgrades to his captains license captain Charles diverted back to his roots of fishing in the Florida Keys full time. Currently, captain Charles is living the dream as a fishing charter captain in Marathon Shores where he owns and operates his 34ft Seavee. " My goal is to provide superior service and unforgettable experiences on the water. I want to share my passion with others and create life long fishing memories for my clients while also educating others on the importance of ocean conservation."
